The meaning of Purva Ashada translates as “the one who never accepts defeat” and means “early victory”, indicating a person able to be independently wealthy.

Apah is closely connected to the mythical sea creature the mermaid. Similar to the mythical mermaid whose qualities are described as alluring, sensitive, beautiful, musical, enticing, adventurous and freedom loving can be very well be applied to this nakshatra.
