Shravana means “the act of acquiring knowledge”. It comes from the root word “Shru” which translates as “to hear”. It’s common approach to acquire knowledge figuratively by listening so the literal meaning of Shravana is “acquiring knowledge by listening”. Hence this nakshatra is termed as “The star of the learning ear”. Ear is the only sense organ of human beings which is most active when it is absolutely passive.
“The three footprints” is the symbol of this nakshatra. The footsteps symbolizes walking and leaving imprints, the natives likes hiking, cycling, running and traveling in general.
Vamana avatar of Vishnu spanned the universe (Earth, Heaven and Netherworld) in three steps denoting his expansive travels as taking command over the three worlds. This explains the three footprints symbology associated with this nakshatra. The restless nature of the shravana nakshatra causes them to travel extensively, usually in the pursuit of knowledge.
The power of Shravana is “Samhanana Shakti” which gives the native the power to connect to higher levels of consciousness and it can lead the person to deep meditation.
Since this nakshatra is associated with Goddess of learning and knowledge Saraswathi, it suggests that the natives will be good with language and oral communications and traditions connected with teaching.
